How to Use a Candle Safely and Effectively: Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the wick to about ¼ inch (6 mm). This helps the candle burn cleanly and prevents soot or large flames. Place on a Heat-Resistant Surface: Set the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable objects, pets, and children. Let the Wax Pool: Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax becomes liquid (usually 1–2 hours). This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn. Don’t Burn Too Long: Avoid burning the candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and uneven wax use. Extinguish Safely: Use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid splashing wax or creating smoke by putting the lid on right after extinguishing. Store Properly: Keep candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve their scent and shape. Reuse Thoughtfully: Once the candle has finished, repurpose the container (if applicable) as a decorative jar or small storage container. Safety Tip: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always ensure it's fully extinguished before leaving the room or going to sleep.
